So we had Wesley's "6 month" checkup today (he is totally 7 months old). He weighs 20 pounds, 4 ounces; is 29.5 inches long; and has a gigantic (19.5 inches around) noggin. Huge head. Anyway, he is very healthy and making enormous strides in the "almost crawling for real" department. Mostly he moves around by sitting up, then flopping over and getting things that I am absolutely sure are too far away for him to reach. 29.5 inches is long!
In other kid news, Mary is taking baths again! She went through this phase of refusing to be in the tub, refusing to get wet, and having complete hysterics if we tried to get her to take a bath, or, even worse, wash her hair.
Well, we changed all that. Now we bribe her. A bath earns one Smartie; hair washing earns a second one. She begs to bathe. (Conor spent a while one night unwrapping 40 rolls of Smarties and emptying them into a jar.)
I don't believe in bribery. However, I don't want her to smell.

Trust this advise from an older experienced Mom...
Sometimes you do whatever it takes. My babies are now 21 and 24 still alive and doing just fine.
Having a child excited to do something that is good for them is worth a bucket of smarties!!
